Flowgrams — storytelling tool?

March 3rd, 2008 by Kevin L. Jones · No Comments

An adjunct professor in UC Berkeley’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department is developing a new communications tool: Flowgrams. If you click on the link I just posted, it will send you to the Website, where you can see examples of flowgrams made by other students here. I tried to make one myself but I had some serious problems and gave up. What can I say? The program is in beta testing. But the reason I want to draw attention to it is because I think it will be a useful tool in blog posts. Why post a bunch of links in your blog that force people to leave your site? Why give others you well-deserved clicks? Also, Power point is becoming a medium in its own right, much like  painting or film, yet it incorporates the art of the pitch, a skill that not all journalists master but should.
