Americans are bombarded by television ads, polling data, debates and water-cooler chatter about who the next president could, or should, be. But in an increasingly globalized world, foreigners have strong feelings about the American presidential campaign, too. Five foreign tourists relaxing Sunday afternoon on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf shared their thoughts with us about our election. Only one person mentioned a Republican candidate – John McCain. Most of them brought up their admiration for Democratic candidate Barack Obama. All spoke of their desire for change in the United States.
